District Medical Group (DMG) is a not-for-profit faculty practice consisting of approximately 450   providers who represent all the major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties.  DMG is the academic faculty practice plan affiliated with the area’s most comprehensive teaching hospital and medical center, Valleywise Health Medical Center (VW).  DMG/VW residencies and fellowships are sponsored by Creighton Medical school (AZ).

DUTIES-

The FQHC Ambulatory Medical Director is responsible for clinical leadership and direction to ensure all clinical care provided at all VW FQHCs meets the highest standard of care and achieves optimal outcomes. The FQHC clinic system is comprised of 11 sites, 88,000 total patients, and 320,000 annual encounters.  As a member of the VW FQHC Ambulatory leadership team, this individual must be energetic with excellent leadership and communication skills and lead by example. This individual must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment, be operations-savvy, and thrive in an autonomous and fast-moving workplace. In coordination with VW and DMG leadership this person is responsible and accountable for the performance of all clinical personnel in the FQHCs and in conjunction with department chairs will lead strategy and operations to ensure robust performance in FQHC required quality and safety metrics.  This position is 50% administrative (protected time) and 50% clinical.  

The position requires a physician who has a minimum of five years’ experience in leadership roles which encompass working with multiple clinical sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong operational knowledge, clinical leadership experience inclusive of quality and safety metrics. The role requires an individual who can build consensus working with multiple stakeholders on a consistent basis.

All VW Family Health Centers are designated as FQHC’s and qualify for both the Federal and State HPSA Loan Repayment Programs. VW FQHC’s have a systemwide score of 21. In addition, DMG is a not-for-profit employer and qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program (PSLF).

Candidates must have an M. D. or D.O. degree, valid Arizona medical license, and be Family Medicine Board-Certified.
