The Employee Health Coordinator is responsible to upload/enter and maintain immunizations, vaccinations, and relevant employee health documentation in coordination with the Chief Risk Officer and the Risk and Employee Health RN.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for data entry, maintaining database, and record compliance specific to employee vaccines and other employee health requirements.
  • Timely and routinely notify employees, independent contractors (ICs), volunteers, and temporary staff of expiring vaccination and annual employee health requirements.
  • Communicate with DMG Leadership any employees, ICs, volunteers, or temporary staff who may be coming due for an employee health requirement or out of compliance.
  • Assist in coordinating the Employee Health annual and onboarding process for employees, ICs, volunteers, or temporary staff.
  • Coordinates with the Risk and Employee Health RN to determine vaccine and other employee health requirements prior to the first day of employment.
  • Perform N95 mask fit testing for any employee, provider, or volunteer who requires a mask.
  • Participate in and provide feedback and suggestions in meetings and/or committees related to the Employee Health needs.
  • Assist in investigating and required or recommended actions from reported employee exposure to a communicable disease.
  • Assist Human Resources with responding to, tracking, and facilitating care for employee incidents and injuries (Workers’ Compensation).
  • Assist with annual regulatory reporting and audits in relation to DMG’s Workers’ Compensation program and incidents.
  • Review laboratory billing for approval for employee health testing.
  • Clerical duties as assigned to include typing, filing, faxing, mailings, scanning, copying, and data base input.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business office procedures.
  • Knowledge of vaccines, titers, and other healthcare-related requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a positive, professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook), ability to learn and use other programs.
  • Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, assuming duties as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Ability to plan and schedule daily work duties.
  • Must be well organized with effective time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Understanding/compliance of HIPAA laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Education or Equivalency

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant degree or certificate preferred

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field considered in lieu of experience.
