About The Role: 

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the analysis, building, testing, and implementing of information systems and solutions. This position is accountable for providing knowledge and skills in assigned software applications and various system environments, developing, and following project schedules, plans, reviews, and timelines. Work closely with end users, peers and vendors in problem determination and resolution.

 

Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as business needs demand.

What Your Primary Responsibilities Would Be: 

  • Provides general system management and support to user population, reporting anomalies and/or discrepancies to management.
  • Interacts with executives and project team to understand requirements, workflows, business process model and expectations; evaluates requests for department/system modifications and enhancements to ensure processes continue to function properly
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies applications systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and installing to support an organization's application systems.
  • Evaluates application updates, revisions, participates in testing, troubleshoots, solves, and makes improvements to application and workflow processes throughout organization.
  • Documents processes to best use applications.
  • Responsible for oversite of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems- claims, remits, and eligibility.
  • Works independently on multiple tasks, resolves problems and provides resolution with limited supervision.
    • Ensures application compliance to HIPAA Standards, and contractual obligations.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in relevant area of claims processing in healthcare, managed care, or healthcare applications preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and claims process procedure, CPT-ICD coding, Medicare, Medicaid, claims payment rules and guidelines.
    • Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Knowledge of health care operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing health care environment. knowledge of application environments including production, test, and interfaces.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and customer service skills, responding to user needs in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Ability to apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve system issues to maximize system potential.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment and deliver quality service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Experience with healthcare practice management systems (Athena IDX preferred)
  • Experience with database management systems (DBMS) for reporting and template modifications.
    • Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
    • Ability to travel between company offices as business needs demand.
    • Ability to work remotely after hours on weekdays or on weekends.
