District Medical Group is currently accepting applications for an IT Healthcare Applications Administrator. The department seeks a proactive, creative thinker with a customer service-focused mindset who enjoys working in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

The Healthcare Applications Administrator will administer and manage all business and clinical applications including GE Centricity Business Practice Management system and GE Centricity EMR. The position will perform system upgrades/installations and provide system maintenance and user support; manage projects and execute follow-through on projects, tasks and issues while working as a member of a cross-functional team.


  • The candidate shall monitor all business and clinical software applications, document and analyze problems, and publish a maintenance schedule
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts for applications as necessary
  • Maintains system documentation
  • Troubleshoot, and resolve any reported problems
  • Provide application performance tuning
  • Review the governing regulations to ensure proper program support
  • Enable best practices
  • Collaborate with DMG Technology team to ensure proper integration of the environment
  • Plan and coordinate testing changes, upgrades, and new services, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments
  • Leads and participates in efforts to develop and implement processes for application and system monitoring
  • Leads and participates in efforts to implement application updates to include upgrades, patches, and new releases
  • Tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs
  • Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs
  • Develop work plans and track/report status of assigned projects/tasks
  • Liaise with vendor support on all issues
  • Fully responsible for problem management activities such as issue resolution and root cause analysis
  • Daily monitoring and maintenance activities
  • Review the governing regulations to ensure proper program support
  • Enable best practices


  • Understanding and experience with Healthcare Information Systems is required.
  • Experience with GE Centricity suite of applications is desired but not required.
  • BS Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Systems Administration, and/or related field
  • Understands software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems.
  • Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools.
  • Display and execute logical and complex troubleshooting methods.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and negotiations skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment.
