About The Role: 

The MedicalAssistant 2 is responsible for providing support to corresponding clinics byassisting patients and their family members before, during and after a doctor’svisit. Medical assistants work alongside doctors, nurses and other clinicalpersonnel, performing functions that help the clinic run smoothly.

 

Schedule

This is a full-timeposition, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

What Your PrimaryResponsibilities Would Be: 

·        Provides coverage in primary care for up to three-month rotationsannually.

·        Completes all CLIA/Waived testing as ordered by provider,maintains documentation and enters into EMR, ensuring compliance.  

·        Train other medical assistants in policy/procedure of primary careclinic and other clinics.

·        Prepares patients for examination, including obtaining vitalsigns, patient history, documents chief complaint, and assists physician duringtreatment, examinations, and testing of patients.

·        Administers and documents vaccines as ordered by the provider.

·        Preparation of patient charts in advance of appointments accordingto clinic guidelines and sterilizes equipment.

·        Assists physicians, nurse practitioners, residents, licensednursing personnel and/or clinical staff as needed.

·        Obtains lab specimen and fills out requisitions completely andaccurately.

·        Review patient medications, and calls in patient prescriptions asneeded.

·        Ensure all related reports, labs and information are scanned andavailable in patient’s medical records prior to appointment.

·        Patient phone calls for appointment reminders completed anddocumented in EMR according to clinic guidelines.  Daily monitoring and response to voice mail,desktop and flag/alerts.

 

The SuccessfulCandidate Will Possess: 

·        High school diploma or equivalent required

·        1+ years’ medical assistant experience

·        Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion

·        Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

·        Knowledge of the heath care field, medical terminology, andmedical office protocol.

·        Knowledge of computer software programs: MS Office and EMR.  

·        Proven ability to train others.

·        Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow.

·        Able to apply a solution-oriented approach to solving problems.
