This is a PRN position.

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for obtaining high quality images that assist physicians in the detection of illness, injury and other medical conditions. This position also provide essential support to make sure the patient is comfortable and at ease throughout the course of the procedure.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Effectively program and set equipment to take X-rays as ordered by physicians then send images.
  • Complete/Update exam information in PACS for all exams
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment after each use.
  • Monitor equipment function (X-ray rooms/PACS) notify appropriate staff when necessary.
  • Order and stock linen.
  • Monitor X-ray reports in PACS for accuracy; notify radiologists when corrections are necessary.
  • Review charts for physicians.
  • Pre-order X-rays, place on hold on desktop.
  • Monitor desktop orders, delete or adjust as needed.
  • Download outside images into PACS system.
  • Make CDs, & if necessary paper copies, of images for physicians prior to surgery or for patients who request them for continued care.
  • Request supplies.
  • Monitor clinic schedules to ensure adequate technologist coverage.
  • Start up and shut down Radiology Department.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system to send orders through as well as troubleshooting when issues arise.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance according to Federal guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of orthopedic imaging.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs: MS Office and EMR experience.
  • High understanding of pediatric diseases and disabilities and how that affects the role of radiology.
  • Ability to communicate with parents and children for their understanding.
  • Ability to communicate at a child’s level in order to obtain the best possible images as quickly as possible.
  • Ability to adapt patient anatomy and disabilities with positioning needs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Education or Equivalency

  • Completion of approved American College of Radiology: Radiologic Technologist Program
  • ASRT/MRTBE
  • AZ State Medical Radiology Technologist Board of Examiners, BLS
  • Bilingual-Spanish/English preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • 2 + years radiology experience
